Our nutritional ignorance can be seen in the chronic rises in obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer, or they would not be as dramatic as they are at present.
Ignorance is not Bliss
Unfortunately, the old saying ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ doesn’t hold when we apply it to nutrition.
None of us want to kill our kids or ourselves for that matter, but our diet is doing just that. A slow and silent killer, just because most people are ignorant of what food is good for them. Scary isn’t it?
Yes people know fast food is bad for them, but would you be able to walk up and down a supermarket aisle and confidently say what is good nutrition for your body?
Child obesity rates are beginning to become alarming and the future for the current generation growing up is not acceptable. To be frank, most people do not have a clue about how to feed a family healthily and that is unacceptable.
To be brutally frank, most people are slowly poisoning their families with an array of toxins and chemicals from our modern diet.
Which leaves just you and I to take responsibility for our own and our families well-being.
So what can we do about it?
There are 3 possible paths for you and your family to take:
- Remain ignorant and continue to pour stress upon you and your families bodies.
- Change your diet and try to be better at providing healthier foods at the dinner table, but base your choices on your current understanding of nutrition.
- Become knowledgable in what a balanced diet consists of and how best to feed your body not only to stop the toxic build-up, but also reverse years of damage.
Now as a concerned parent and as an ageing adult, I decided to take step 3 just over 12 months ago and move to a more paleo based diet.
Why Paleo Food?
So these are the benefits we’ve seen from introducing Paleo food into our diet:
- More energy
- Better concentration
- Better mood
- Weight loss
- Better all round health
- No colds or flu
- Healthier skin
- Healthier hair and nails
- Reduced gum bleeding
- Reduced aches and pains
- Better blood pressure
None of us would deliberately harm our children, but isn’t it time we stopped doing it out of ignorance?
Now I’m no nutritional expert, so I wouldn’t dare tell you what your diet should consist of, but I know a lot more than I did 12 months ago and I’m appalled at what my diet used to be and the potential damage it could cause, so I want to take a different tack.
Below is a link to a web page that explains the food you can still eat when you make the decision towards using better nutrition for your family, food our body recognises and is designed to consume.
This is the best Paleo food cookbook I have found and can heartily recommend it. Why not give it a try for a couple of weeks and see the difference in your families health and well-being. I reckon once you try it, you are not going to want to go back to your old ways.
You can ignore the advice, you can take it on board, you can even buy the product, the choice is yours, but please don’t ignore this, make your choice.
Thank you for your time,
